Gary's Interview on CU@USC

Gary Gene Bolton appeared in a televised interview for the show CU@USC with host Rachna Khatau.

This is a telecast of the entire interview. In it Gary discusses his early life in Kansas and explains how he moved his family to Los Angeles to pursue his career in music. He gives us insight into the difficulties he had starting out and how he overcame them.

Gary elaborates on the beneficial influence record producer Richard Egizi had on his music along with co-producer Randy Farrar. He gives a lot of credit to fellow musicians Nathan East on Bass, Mitch Holder on Guitar, Tom Canning on Piano and Greg Leisz on Pedal Steel, calling them "the very, very top musicians in the industry".

At the end Gary treats us to a poignant acoustic rendition of "Whatever Happened to Main Street", which is featured in his music video on our video page.
